Soon we are going to have to open presents in the kitchen becuase the presents are taking over the living room.

We celebrated Christmas the 26th because Mike and his finance Angie couldn't make it till then.

Here is Elisabeth trying to eat her new favorite gift, oranges in a plastic bag.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!! I hope that everyone had a great day. I spent my day plowing my grandma's driveway and watching a marathon of Star Trek The Next Generation.

How many deer are too many deer?

My grandmother's house is deer central; they come into the yard everyday about the same time. One day their were about 10 deer in back of the house. Here are some of the shots that I took during my Christmas vacation.

A young buck taking a strole through the yard.

There were 5 deer here up by the house looking for some lunch. This is taken from my Grandmothers kitchen window.

Some of the deer were having a hard time judging the distance to jump the fence, this one had no problem clearing the fence.

Icicle wars

Here is the most awesome Icicle that is coming off my mother's house! It is almost down to the snow pile!

This is an icicle on a house in Spokane that I thought was cool.

Welcome to Spokane and a lot of SNOW!!!

Holy Crap Spokane is COLD!! When I arrived in the winter wonder land it was about -16 degrees as you can see on the car temperature gauge.

You can also see that there is some much snow that their is no where to put it so they put it down the middle of the street.

This is how much snow is on my mom's car when I arrived home, she couldn't get out of her driveway so Nicole had to pick me up in the 4 wheel drive.

SCARY

This is right by my old house on Melrose! One of the apartment building on the right of the buses is my old place. While these pictures are obviously not mine, I did see this first hand earlier today as I was on the bus going to the airport. I have never seen so many flashing lights from firetrucks, police and ambulances. I was glad to hear that no one was seriously hurt!

Chilling at the airport

I have arrived at the airport. I'm only over 3 hours early but I was not chancing missing the plane. I was already scolded by Southwest about the fact that I changed my flight too many times. To that I say, Suck it! my flight was cancelled and I will change my flight as many times as I have to till I get the earliest flight I can!

I love snow again!

I have now changed my travel plans about 4 times...
I finally got a flight out tonight!! Christmas time is about to start!

Out my window right now

This is for you Jenny. This is the view out my window right now. This is how snowy it is.

Best bits vol 3

12/18/08

So today started out nice. It was snowing and my walk down the hill to catch the shuttle to work was beautiful. It had that lovely hushed quiet that you only get with snow. I didn't even mind to much that I had to wait 45 minutes to get a shuttle, I actually had to flag one down but that was okay because I was going to fly home to start Christmas vacation this evening.

Lovely

My day started to go down south when I happened to check the weather report for Spokane and saw that they had a record snowfall of 17 inches in 24 hours. I started to get worried that my flight might get cancelled when I saw that most of the morning flights were indeed cancelled. I wasn't too worried yet because my flight wasn't until 9 that night and the storm was suppose to let up mid morning. Around 2pm my flight was listed as delayed an hour and I was okay with that it was fine arriving later than I expected. When I left work the flight was still the same so I was hopeful. I was able to take the work shuttle downtown only to discover that no buses were going up the hill and I would have to walk in the cold and wind. I decided to call and see how my flight was doing and was saddened to find out that it was cancelled. Then I was pissed to learn that the first flight that I could get on was Saturday afternoon at 3:10!!! Damn it I want to start Christmas now not 2 days from now!!! Now I'm trying to decided if I want to try my luck tomorrow at the airport and see if I can fly out standby. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Travis is happy because now I'm going to be on the same flight that he is. He also doesn't understand why I'm mad that I have to wait till Saturday. I planned to leave after work today so that I could have the most time back home during my favorite time of year, so it bums me out that I have to wait. Plus I'm not the most patient of people.

Let me just say that the walk back up the hill was not as enjoyable as the walk down was. 1. it wasn't nearly as pretty. 2. it was much colder, my face was frozen! 3. I was irritated I wasn't going to be going home.

Not as lovely

Here I am chatting with Travis as I trek in the cold.

FUCK SNOW!

I'm so irritated my flight was cancelled and now I can't start my vacation until late Saturday afternoon! The only person happy about this info is Maggie.

update

Departure Seattle (SEA) 08:55 PM Delayed 10:35 PM

Arrival Spokane (GEG) 09:50 PM Delayed 11:30 PM

White Christmas? Yes. Home for Christmas? Who knows

I have no idea if I will be able to get home to ML tonight to start my Christmas vacation! Seattle is in a snow storm (Winter Freeze) and Spokane is getting DUMPED on, 17 inches in 24 hours (I don't know what their icon is yet)!!! So far my flight is not cancelled, but most flights are. I really don't want to have to go to the airport tonight to find out that my flight is cancelled. If it is going to be cancelled I would like it to happen before I try to get to the airport! I hope I can get to ML tonight so I don't have to try to deal with getting on a flight tomorrow with all the other people who's flights were cancelled today!

Trailer

This goes along with my other Top Gun post, I just found this on another website and it reminds me of how much I love Top Gun! Tom Cruise wasn't glib yet, he had yet to jump on a couch. Plus I love Anthony Edwards, poor Goose. Volleyball scene. Val Kilmer at his hottest! Enjoy.

No school!?!?!????

Seriously, Seattle school district closed school today! It’s not snowing, the roads are dry, and it’s about 10 degrees warmer today than yesterday. What the hell did they close school for? I remember when I was in school it was only closed if there was a boat load of snow, major drifting, below zero temperatures or an ice storm! And no I didn’t have to walk up hill both ways with no shoes!
I just check and in ML it is 5 degrees and snowing and they are still going to school! Take that wimpy Seattle schools!!!

Who want to hear some poetry...?

Tonight I went to my friend Jim's poetry reading. It was a memorial reading for one of the other members who passed away earlier this year. While I don't enjoying listening to poetry readings, I do like Jim's stuff because; 1. he is a great writer, 2. his poems are very interesting, 3. he doesn't read in a monotone voice, and 4. he doesn't come off as pretentious.
Here are two of his poems.

Hello rudeness!!

When you see a 4 person table with 1 person at it and you try to sit there and that person nicely tell you they are waiting for 2-3 more people to arrive what would your response be?

Say “Thank you, I will move to the table next to yours.” Then move to the table next door.
Say “Tough, you snooze you loose.” Sit down at the table anyway.
Say “That’s okay I have a friend coming to, we will all fit.” Sit down anyway with a snotty attitude.

Well this just happened to me and my friends today at lunch and the woman in question choose option #3. Now I would actually have a little more respect for her if she had went with # 1 or 2. Come on 6 people are not going to fit at a 4 top. Plus 1 foot away from her was another table that had 2 open spots she would have seriously had to scoot about 12 inches to the right!

Why would you sit at a four top table that you are told is going to be full and than say that you also had a friend coming and it will be fine we will all fit?!?

Carmel and I then switched tables when a table opened up. Now when Terry and Jim arrived we could sit at the same table.

What I'm thinking right now

I’m tired today. The bus was late this morning, so I had to stand out in the cold for about 20 minutes waiting for it! Then the shuttle that I take to work left early so I missed it making me 15 minutes late to work, grrr. I have to go to an 8 hour work day/training in about an hour, meaning that I will be here till after 7pm tonight. After work I have to run to the bead store to pick up some stuff so that I can finish a necklace that someone ordered, go and buy some cat food so that Maggie doesn’t starve, do some more cleaning so that I don’t leave my house in a mess when I go to ML for the holidays. Tomorrow I’m going to a poetry reading, my friend Jim is doing a reading, and I’m really only going for him cuz poetry is just not my thing. After that I need to make 60 cookies for a cookie exchange the next day! There goes another bag or two of chocolate chips!!!

I started packing last night, 1. because I love packing, 2. because I have a lot going on this week and 3. I really love packing! I really want to be ready to leave after work on Thursday because it might snow again and then getting to the airport will turn into a nightmare because Seattle drivers are retarded and don’t know what to do when snow and ice happen. I love that I don’t have to pack much because I leave some clothes at my mom’s house ie, track pants, long sleeved shirt, winter jacket, shoes. All I need to bring are some PJs, an outfit to wear to Christmas Eve service, underwear, a pair of jeans and a nicer shirt. Because what do I wear when I’m chillazing around ML? Track pants and long sleeved shirt.

Whoa I’m very chatty today.

How Many part 3

Wow still nothing! I will update you if she does knock any off the tree.

Happy Birthday Terry!!!

Today is Terry's birthday!! We had a small party and as you can see some of her co-workers decorated her desk! I made her some meatballs because she said she was in the mood for them.
Terry showing off some of her new hand signs she was giving. I don't think she is being very cheery though, I will blame it on the early hour. :)

Christmas party 2008

It is time for my annual Christmas party. It started long ago, in my 15th year on this earth I decided that I wanted to learn how to set and use all the silverware at a formal place setting. That year was when the Dinner Party was started! I cooked a 5 course meal for 3 of my friends and a tradition was started. I might no longer make a 5 course meal, it is now down to appetizers and desserts but it is still fun!

Carmel and Travis enjoying some tasty food.

The menu this year; Sliders, Apple and Feta Tart, Rosemary Potato Popper and Cucumber Humus Stackers. Dessert was a choice of either Lemon or Chocolate mini Tarts!

The boys chilazing.

Time for the White elephant gift exchange!

Travis showing off the gift that he stole, Carla brought the monkey she won a the Fair!

Carmel showing off the awesome doll she got, needless to say no one stole that!

Okay maybe Maggie wanted it. Well she isn't getting it, it leaves with Carmel!

Next year everyone is getting checked before they leave my house so that no one can shove there "gift" in my fridge when I'm not looking! Yeah Jim, I'm talking to you!!!!

How Many part 2

I think Maggie knows I'm blogging about her. This is day two and she hasn't knocked off one ornament, that is unless she as learned how to put them back on the tree.

How many?

Welcome to what I'm calling my new Holiday game. How many ornaments does Maggie take off the tree today?!? This is what it looks like on day 1 let's see how it looks at the end of the season after the many times I will have to redecorate it.

It must be Christmas time...

My toilet is dressed for the Holidays!

and the fun begins...

So far I only have the tree put together and Maggie is already needing to be tasered!

Get with it!

I love amazon.com wishlists!! I love to be able to let people know exactly what I would enjoy receiving as a gift and I love being able to see what others would enjoy receiving as a gift! What I don't enjoy is that no one in my family has one!! I don't understand why they don't, I've only begged them to make one for the last 5 years!!! I can understand my Mom and Grandma not having one but come on the rest of you, that's right John, Nicole, Mike, Kristen and Eric I'm talking to you!!! Make a damn wishlist!!!!

Check out my Wishlist here!!

This made me laugh

I haven't seen the movie yet, I did enjoy the books, that is until the 4th one ruined it by being gross. This blog entry from EW.com is hilarious because I think the movie looks cheesy!

Let's assume you're an adult male who has somehow avoided reading EW's 1,783 recent Twilight cover stories. You may be thinking, "Hey, this thing made a ton of money; maybe I should see it." You shouldn't. Twilight has no more to offer you than a sale at Sephora (FYI: Apparently, that's a lipstick emporium of some sort). Oh, sure, the premise of this horror movie sounds enticing: A hot teenage girl (Kristen Stewart) moves to a new school in the rugged Pacific Northwest, where she discovers that the man of her dreams (Robert Pattinson) is actually...a vampire! It's Near Dark-meets-Deliverance, right? Incorrectamundo! This adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's best-selling novel (for girls!) is actually the lamest episode of 90210 ever made combining forces with the second-lamest episode of 90210 ever made. In fact — and this is the crucial point — Twilight is not a horror movie at all, just an excuse to feature the two leads making cow eyes at each other. Pattinson and his band of fellow goth-nerds only feast on the blood of, uh, cute animals, which might irk the folks at PETA, but does not a terrifying movie make. This interminable kissyfest is as frightening as an average edition of The View (FYI: Apparently, that's a daytime chat show of some sort). Yes, if you take a ladyfriend, she will repeatedly clutch your knee — which, after all, is the principal raison d'ĂȘtre of the horror genre. However, she will do this not from fear but to alert you to some aspect of Pattinson's total dreaminess. That's no way to spend an evening when there is beer to be drunk, sports teams to be supported, or, indeed, paint to watch dry.

1 down 3 to go!

The last time my grandmother visited she gave me 2 bags of chocolate chips, she tried to give me 4 but I said 2 was enough. Let me tell you my Grandma is sneaky, she sent those 2 bags with John and Nicole over Thanksgiving!! So today I made some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, next up oatmeal chocolate chip!

The Devil's drink!

I love Egg Nog!!! Thank God it is not out year round!

Seriously

How is tomorrow December?! I can't believe how fast time is flying!! Remember when you were a kid and it seemed like Christmas was never going to come, now I swear to God it was just Christmas last week!! I want to go back to being a kid when time went slower! I guess I better get my Christmas decorations up, I'm having a party this coming weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today was great I worked for 8 hours. While I was there I: made 3 necklaces and a pair of earrings, ate free Thanksgiving feast (not very good though), went back later and got another free Snapple and more pie (just like real Thanksgiving you always have to go back for more), and jammed out to some tunes. This is what my cousin Kristen and I are thankful for!
We can't believe America got Rick Rolled!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

Who's the best Aunt?!?!

That's right she ROCKS!
Right now I'm rocking pj's and morning hair!
