Music of the night

Last night Carmel, Carla, Jenny, Travis and I went to see Phantom! It was the second time that I saw it, I saw it on Broadway for my birthday a couple of years ago. We had a great time, sadly the Phantom wasn't as cute as Gerald Buttler but you can't have it all.
After the show we went and had happy hour at DragonFish and there we learned that they run on DragonFish time. Happy hour starts at 10pm but DragonFish isn't in the Pacific Time zone it is in the DragonFish time zone, which apparently is 15 mins later than Pacific time.

Upgrade

In the middle of our cruise we got the most amazing phone call! Would we like to be upgraded to a Deluxe Veranda Suite free of charge? Hell yeah we would!! Here is a tour of our new room. We thought our old room was spacious this one was out of control!

Sorry I look drug addled

Let's Zip!

We went on the most amazing excursion while we were in Ketchikan we went Ziplining!!! I had to talk my mom into it but we both had an AWESOME time! I want to Zipline everywhere I go!

It all started with a crazy ride the side of a hill to get to the Zip area.

Mom and I enjoying our ride!

I look so rockin' in my helmet!

Here I come!

This is my new boyfriend Justin he was our awesome guide he made our trip so much fun!

Mush!!

While we were in Juneau we went on a dog sledding excusion.at there summer musher camp. It was so much fun and you could really tell that the dogs loved pulling the sled. When we arrived the dogs were going nuts waiting for us to get in the sled so they could get to pulling!

Welcome to our room!

Before we left for our cruise I was a little nervious about the size that our room was going to be. You alyays hear about the rooms being super little, but I happy to report that our room was a decient size, we didn't have any problem with the size.
These beds were so comfortable and cozy.

Who wants to eat?

Here is a selection of some of the food that was consumed!
Seafood Crustini & Surf and Turf
Afternoon Tea & Tastey Sweet and Sour Pork

Baked Alaska & Bread Pudding

I LOVE Cruising!!!

Here we are on first day of cruising! We have just eaten our first meal of many on our vacation. I don't know if I can explain how much I Love cruising!! First of all it was a week long vacation (who doesn't love that), then it is all you can it any time you want to eat, plus while you are on your way to your destination you aren't stuck sitting in the back seat of a car or a tiny seat of an airplane you can lounge in your room, play some shuffleboard (I'm not good), join in a quiz game show (and come in 2nd place), gamble (I lost $10), eat (I did a lot that), or many many other things.

Almost time!!!

OMG tomorrow morning we leave for our cruise!! I just finished packing and am now trying to get my apartment in order so it's not a mess when Terry comes over to watch Maggie (thanks Terry). I can hardly wait!! My mother has gone over board with her packing; she has 2 check bags and 1 carryon. I on the other hand have 1 check and 1 carryon.

What should have been a leisurely morning tomorrow now is a little crazier. We went to Costco tonight so I could get a new camera, because my camera died right before my birthday back in April. So we get to Costco I look around and decide on the one that I want and the guy helps me get the paperwork so that I can pick it up after I pay for it. We dink around waiting for Travis's pictures to get developed and we then check out where I learn after I have paid for it that they are out of that model!!! I ask them to see if one of the other Costcos have one and the one in Lynnwood has 11 but they are closing in 20 minutes!! Well crap on a crutch, then the lady has the balls to say "if only I had come in earlier because they sold 6 today). I "return" my camera and ask when they open in the morning and they tell me 10 so we will be in the Costco parking lot at 9:55 ready and waiting to run in and buy my camera. Then we will head down to Mike's to drop off her car and have Mike take us to the boat. Mike just told us that he is super sick and will be wearing a mask when taking us because supposedly he is very contagious. Needless to say mom and I will either stick our heads out the window on the way there or we will be holding it the whole time!!!

Best bits vol 1

After recently learning out how to embed a clip from hulu (my new favorite thing) I have decided to pick out some of my favorite bits from Dr. Horrible’s Sing along Blog for you and of course my own enjoyment. Here is the first installment!

Got to check the post

Thanks to my friend Jenny I am addicted to this website that is all about cruises. It has a posting board for people to ask millions of questions like; “how do I sneak liquor on board?”, “how dressy is formal night?”, “how much, who and when do I tip?”, and my favorite “will I have fun?” I think that question is a little hard for someone else to answer because I believe that you get what you put into something, plus how is anyone suppose to know if what you think is fun?! I have never posted anything but I love reading all the different threads that are on there, and believe me there are a lot!! They even have a section, called roll call, that you can try to meet people who are going to be on the same cruise as you, I don’t think I would actually meet anyone from the boards but I would love to read what they had to say. I was so disappointed when I found my cruise roll call and it is just 2 people who already know each other yakking about what hotel they are staying in and what their husbands are going to pack for 63 posts! I think everyone else is bored by them as well because are a ton of views but only those 2 idiots are talking. I better go check what everyone has to say! Thanks Jenny!

Blast from the past!

Michael Damian(from Young and the Restless fame)was the first concert I ever went to, I was in the sixth grade and I wore my awesome new t-shirt that I bought at the concert to show and tell that next week!! It was a huge oversized white shirt with Michael's huge head in black with his penatrating blue eyes! I was so in love with that shirt!! I wish I could find a picture of it, but please enjoy this instead, sadly I don't think my concert was this rockin!

and the year was...

Another year of Bumbershoot volunteering fun is over! This year Travis and I worked in Catering and I did fun things like;

-Taking 2 bowls and a bag of clean rags over to the EMP stage.
-2 minutes from returning from EMP going back there with a container of cream.
-Straighten up the staff eating area.
-Watching Travis spill cream on the floor of said eating area.
-Sit on cases of Rock Star energy drink and pet someone’s dog.
-Try not to strangle the 15 year old girl who was “working” with me, I was working she was mostly just consulting a list, thinking she was in charge and doing no work.
-Learning how to operate a Pallet Jack, and then moving many pallets around a small area (I’m not really sure why, I didn’t see any reason to do this but who am I to say what useless activity shouldn’t be done?).
-Being in charge of the recycling area (it consisted of 4 empty boxes of beer that I broke down and staked in a neat pile!)
-Filling all the bands coolers with ice so they had cold bear to drink.

It may sound like lame thing to do, well it was but, I love doing it because it saved me $80 of entrance fees!! Now on to the shows.

I must say that this year Bumbershoot may have taken place in 2008 but its heart was in the late 1990’s. With artists like; Beck, The Offspring, Jakob Dylan and Stone Temple Pilots representing the 90’s and new artist like; Estelle, TI, Band of Horses and Ingrid Michaelson, I wasn’t sure what year it was. Plus for some crazy reason the teens are bringing back 80’s fashions, good lord we all looked stupid in the 80’s that look doesn’t need to come back!!

Some of them were great shows; Estelle (she was super fun and my favorite show of the festival), TI (put on a great show, should have been at night not 4pm), Ingrid Michaelson (wish I could have seen her whole set but I wanted to see STP) Beck (sound quality was crap but the show was fun) and Stone Temple Pilots (I had forgotten how much I liked them and I was crushing on the Base player).

Some were boring; Jakob Dylan (oh yeah you were boring in The Wallflowers too), Keyshia Cole (if I hadn’t wanted to see TI after her I would have left)

Some I didn’t know I knew until they played a certain song; Band of Horses (I have reserved their cds at the library), Keyshia Cole (but still boring)

Some were new to me and enjoyable; Star Anna (I would like to read a book to her music), Tyronne Wells (good show but he told the longest most boring story about…zzzz, sorry just thinking about put me to sleep)

All in all I had a great time and will be rested up in time for next year!
