Terry, Carmel, Tina and I played some tennis today. Wait that made it seem like it was this easy thing there is a story as to how we got to that point. Carmel and I thought that we had invited Tina and Terry the day before but apparently Terry needs more than “are we kayaking or playing tennis tomorrow?” and her answer being “I don’t want to spend any money.” My response “then tennis it is!” was not concrete enough for her. Luckily Terry doesn’t live that far from work so she could go home and change. I thought that Carmel invited Tina and Melissa but she didn’t. One of the funniest parts of the day was that I had seen Tina as I was coming in at Tullys, I was carrying my tennis bag. Then Tina went to her office and Melissa had her tennis bag that put Tina over the edge because Melissa, Carmel and I had told her that we would invite her the next time we played, and here two of us were with tennis bags and she was not invited. Tina went to Terry and was like “Shannon and Melissa have their tennis bags, were you invited to play too?” Terry says she was not and the both of them come storming up to my desk to ask why they weren’t invited! I informed Terry that she was with us when we decided to play tennis, I repeated our conversation and everything, and this is when I learned that she didn’t deem that to be a concrete plan. I also learned that we hadn’t actually invited Tina and Melissa, Melissa was playing with someone else and she didn’t invite us either!!! Terry and Tina have the same shoe size so she could borrow Terry’s shoes, it seemed like all was going to work out!
To the courts we go!!
Now the funniest yet not funny thing happened. We just got on the court Tina, Carmel and I were starting to warm up a bit, Terry wasn’t on the court yet. Tina was saying that her borrowed shoes were stiffer than she was used to so if anything happened she was going to blame it on the shoes. I swear to God she just finished saying that and wham down she went!!! It was the most spectacular fall I have seen!! One second she was getting ready to hit the ball and then she was falling on her face! She was a trooper she popped right back up laughing a little and was ready to continue with some complaint about how that hurt. I thought she was going to have a scrapped face but she amazingly didn’t, but she did jack up her hand like no ones business. It looked like she cut out huge chunks of skin off of her knuckles. Terry and Carmel where one she spot with the first aid kit they got her cleaned up and bandaged and we started playing. The best part of the story is that Terry was wearing the t-shirt that I gave her for Christmas, when I saw it I knew it was meant for her.

Sadly the bandaids don't show the amazing wounds!
For the first time we played actually games. I serve short (I got it over and in every time) Terry did comment to Carmel that she need to scoot up closer to the net, but oddly enough I hit long. I like just volleying back and for as apposed to matches because it moves faster.
